What am I if I am a serf who refuses to obey?, A Human Strategy, Matt Berry, aphorism 235

What am I if I am a serf who refuses to obey?  And then discover after my banishment that I have no instinct for command?  The king will not take me back, and I fear the next leg of my journey ... for all roads end here.  I wander through the wilderness, taken aback with my new fear of freedom, whimpering and crying out for a new master to serve ... and finding none better than the one I had before.  I know, I know ... I have heard it all before, but how?  ... and with what?  How does second nature command first nature without finding itself suddenly dispatched on yet another errand?
