For the sake of truth, to resist the maximum sensation produced by a strictly mechanical projector, wouldn’t that be something like the anguish of sacrificing a cherished god? Wouldn’t that be our own crucifixion?

A theory of art

Interest is not in what you see. It’s in what you don’t see. It is sensed incompleteness completed reflexively by the spectator.
